I Did It!

I Did It!

I Did It!

Tejiri in Mr Dikit's Grade 5 class recently took on a sweet challenge—baking a cake completely on her own for the very first time. From start to finish, she measured, mixed, and baked until she had her very own delicious masterpiece.

What made this project even more special is Tejiri’s heart behind it. She has always dreamed of sharing her baking with others—donating to the food bank or bringing joy to those in need. Completing this cake wasn’t just about learning a skill; it was about discovering what she’s capable of and how she can use her gifts to bless others.

As Let Grow founder Lenore Skenazy reminds us: “I Did It” is the original anxiety buster. When kids accomplish something on their own, they not only gain confidence, but also the courage to take on the world.

We are so proud of Tejiri’s initiative and perseverance. Sometimes all it takes is a little guidance, a little letting go, and a lot of trust in the process. These kids are more ready than we realize!

Division Notice

ATA Strike Commencing on Monday; School Closures Starting Oct 6th

As a result of the Alberta Teachers Association (ATA) rejecting a proposed deal from the Teachers’ Employer Bargaining Association (TEBA), all FMPSD schools will be closed to students starting Monday, October 6, 2025, unless a new agreement is reached or strike action is otherwise averted. Additionally, all yellow school bus routes will be suspended for the duration of the strike.

In light of the ongoing strike, all extracurricular activities, including sports, clubs, and after-school programs, will be temporarily suspended.

As there is no definitive end date for the strike, FMPSD is unable to provide a timeline for when normal operations will resume. We will continue to provide timely updates as we receive them from the Ministry of Education and Child Care.
