Fort McMurray Christian School, as a fully accredited school, follows Alberta curriculum standards. In all subject areas, God is acknowledged as the creator and sustainer of the world. Students will develop an understanding of this awesome reality and the way that this affects living in this world. Christian teachers integrate a Christian perspective using their professional background and training, as well as curriculum resources produced by Christian Schools International and other Christian publishers. These fully trained, Alberta certified teachers encourage students in their God-given responsibilities and abilities. The grade integrated classrooms provide opportunities for students to learn responsibility and cooperation, but also to develop a spirit of community. Library visits, field trips, and assemblies enhance the students’ education. The low student-to-teacher ratio facilitates greater individual attention.
In our Early Childhood Development Program and Kindergarten, the students learn about themselves, their families, friends, community, animals, and God’s love in our world. The goal is accomplished through Bible stories, play centers, number and letter recognition, drama, and games.
