Salvation Army Angel Tree Program

Salvation Army Angel Tree Program

As in previous years, our school has opted once again to take part in the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program. For those not familiar with this charitable activity, please see the following quote from our local Salvation Army:

“The Angel Tree Program is designed to help low income families within our community celebrate Christmas in the traditional way with regards to giving gifts. These families cannot afford the extra expense of buying Christmas gifts for their children and this program makes this aspect of Christmas possible for them. Thank you to all who participate as we remember that “Jesus is the Reason for the Season””.

If you would like to help out in this way, please stop by our office to select a tag. Unwrapped gifts and tags will need to be brought back to our office no later than December 1st.

Division Notice

ATA Strike Commencing on Monday; School Closures Starting Oct 6th

As a result of the Alberta Teachers Association (ATA) rejecting a proposed deal from the Teachers’ Employer Bargaining Association (TEBA), all FMPSD schools will be closed to students starting Monday, October 6, 2025, unless a new agreement is reached or strike action is otherwise averted. Additionally, all yellow school bus routes will be suspended for the duration of the strike.

In light of the ongoing strike, all extracurricular activities, including sports, clubs, and after-school programs, will be temporarily suspended.

As there is no definitive end date for the strike, FMPSD is unable to provide a timeline for when normal operations will resume. We will continue to provide timely updates as we receive them from the Ministry of Education and Child Care.
