My name is Teila Rowsell, and I am excited to be returning to Fort McMurray Christian School for my second year as the school counsellor. I was born and raised in Fort McMurray and feel proud to now be working within the same school district that supported me throughout my own education from kindergarten through high school graduation.

As the school counsellor, my goals this year are to continue building meaningful connections with students and to foster a safe, welcoming environment where every student feels comfortable to be themselves. I am passionate about supporting students in their social and emotional development, as well as their mental health and overall well-being.

I hold an Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC) Certificate from Keyano College, which I completed in 2016. I then began the Social Work program at Keyano College before relocating to Calgary, where I finished my Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) at the University of Calgary, graduating in 2020. I am currently pursuing my Master of Social Work (MSW) at the University of Calgary.
