My name is Teila Rowsell. I am excited to be at Fort McMurray Christian School this year as your new school counsellor. I was born and raised here in Fort McMurray, where I attended kindergarten to grade twelve in this public school district.

I completed my Early Learning and Child Care Certificate, followed by my Social Work Diploma at Keyano College. I then relocated to Calgary to complete my Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) at the University of Calgary, which I graduated from in 2020. Presently, I am enrolled at the University of Calgary working toward completing my Master of Social Work (MSW).

I am grateful to be back home in Fort McMurray, and am looking forward to the year ahead. My goals as the school counsellor this year is to build rapport with the students, to create a welcoming environment where students can feel comfortable to be themselves, and feel supported to share their challenges and goals.
