I am so excited to be teaching again this year at FMCS. This is my family’s 13th year with FMCS. We have loved, worked, and grown with this community through floods, fires, relocation, and many other changes and challenges. I have 4 children in grades 7, 9, 11, and first year university at Redeemer University in Ancaster, Ontario. My oldest two children are graduates of FMCS and we are so thankful for the foundation that Christian education helped us to build in their lives and in the lives of our other children. The storyline that I have chosen for my junior high classes is, Go! Do! It is my prayer that as we grow, celebrate, learn, and struggle together this year that we will always remember what Paul taught us in Romans 8:38-39, “And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Division Notice

ATA Strike Commencing on Monday; School Closures Starting Oct 6th

As a result of the Alberta Teachers Association (ATA) rejecting a proposed deal from the Teachers’ Employer Bargaining Association (TEBA), all FMPSD schools will be closed to students starting Monday, October 6, 2025, unless a new agreement is reached or strike action is otherwise averted. Additionally, all yellow school bus routes will be suspended for the duration of the strike.

In light of the ongoing strike, all extracurricular activities, including sports, clubs, and after-school programs, will be temporarily suspended.

As there is no definitive end date for the strike, FMPSD is unable to provide a timeline for when normal operations will resume. We will continue to provide timely updates as we receive them from the Ministry of Education and Child Care.
