Mr. Timothy Dikit
As a proud alumnus of Fort McMurray Christian School, where I attended from Grade 1 to Grade 8, I am honoured to return as a second-year teacher, now leading the Grade 5 class. My journey has come full circle, having grown up in Fort McMurray from 2007 to 2016. Following the Fort McMurray Wildfire in 2016, I relocated to Edmonton, where I completed Grade 9 at Edmonton Christian Northeast and continued my high school education at Edmonton Christian High School. I then pursued a Bachelor of Education at the University of Alberta, which solidified my passion for teaching and instilled in me the values of perseverance, empathy, and lifelong learning.
In my classroom, I embrace the theme "Armed and Ready," where my mission is to promote independence and ensure that students are fully equipped with the knowledge, skills, and faith they need to face the world confidently. I believe that every student has the potential to succeed, and I am committed to nurturing their growth and development, even in the face of challenges. My teaching philosophy is rooted in the idea that education should be inclusive, supportive, and tailored to meet the unique needs of each learner. By fostering a sense of curiosity and resilience, I aim to inspire confidence and help every student realize their full potential. With the constant assurance that God will guide their way, I strive to prepare my students not just academically but also spiritually for the journey ahead.
In addition to my academic responsibilities, I am deeply passionate about extracurricular activities and am excited to be coaching the majority of our school’s sports teams this year. I believe that sports and physical education play a crucial role in the overall development of students, teaching them teamwork, discipline, and the importance of a healthy lifestyle. Outside the classroom, I enjoy travelling, camping, and hiking—activities that allow me to connect with nature and bring fresh perspectives into my teaching. These experiences help me create engaging, real-world learning opportunities that resonate with my students and enhance their educational experience.
