My name is Jillian Jackman and I am proud to say that I was born and raised in the beautiful province of Newfoundland. At the young age of 6 I asked Jesus into my heart to be my Lord and Saviour. I was blessed to grow in a Christian home and attended Eugene Vaters Pentecostal Collegiate from kindergarten to grade 12. After high school I attended Memorial University where I received a BA with double major in Psychology and Sociology. During my degree I worked with young children diagnosed with Autism through the ABA program. This experience unearthed a passion for teaching. Through this work experience I had contact with occupational therapists, physio-therapists and speech pathologists. I developed a passion for understanding how children can be best supported to reach their individual potential. I then entered another 4 year program and earned a B Ed in primary education. During this Degree I met my loving, animated and supportive husband Ken. We married when I finish my program and quickly moved to High Level Alberta. We actually passed right by the town the first day we arrive and thought "that was it"? High level Christian school was were I experience my first two years teaching. I couldn't have asked for a better experience and the people I met there still hold a very special place in my heart. High Level was a great start but a lack of job opportunities for Ken brought us to Fort McMurray in 2008. The past 15 years at Fort McMurray Christian school have been a beautiful blessing. I have been embraced with loving arms by the community at Fort McMurray Christian school and look forward to growing with "the little school that could."
