Mrs. Rebekah Hiltz
Hello, my name is Rebekah Hiltz and I have had the privilege of teaching in Fort McMurray for 10 years. I am excited to be in my eleventh year of teaching and my 7th year at Fort McMurray Christian School! It has been a wonderful journey going from medical secretary to Early Childhood Educator, to getting my BEd through the University of Alberta! My husband and I moved to Fort McMurray in 2003 and call this place home; however, we do look forward to seeing our families in B.C. during the summer.
I became a follower of Christ when I first prayed at the altar at 5 years of age. My dad was a pastor, so I grew up in church and went to the mission field at the age of 16 yrs. What an experience it was for our family to travel to the country of Nepal and become immersed in the customs and language of the Nepalese people!
I have always loved to travel and see new and exciting things and this carries over into my longing to be out in nature and enjoy the beauty God has given us!
Enjoying music and art has been a pastime since my younger years! Although I don’t take photographs with my SLR anymore, it amazes me how well cell phone pictures can turn out! I still have yet to capture the awe inspiring Northern Lights in all of their glory, that dazzle our Northern skies, but perhaps one night soon!
Fort McMurray is a unique place in this world where people come from all corners of the earth to form our multicultural community. This is one of my favourite things about Fort McMurray and our school! I am thankful for the opportunity to work at this very special school that stands for biblical principles and strives to follow in Jesus’ footsteps!
