This is now my seventh year with the Fort McMurray Public School Division and my fourth year serving as principal of Fort McMurray Christian School. I am grateful for the opportunity to walk alongside our staff, families, and community as together we nurture students in both their learning and their walk with Christ. At FMCS, our mission is to provide excellent education grounded in a Christian worldview, and I count it a privilege to help shape an environment where students are reminded daily that they are Created on Purpose, For a Purpose—our school theme for this year. Through our work with Teaching for Transformation and Let Grow, we are committed to helping students grow in resilience, confidence, and faith as they step out of their comfort zones and discover how God has uniquely equipped them.

Originally from Nova Scotia, I am a proud family man blessed with two wonderful children and a wife who also teaches in the division. I love to travel and encourage students to dream big while making a difference locally and globally. My teaching and mission experiences in Egypt, the Czech Republic, Ukraine, and Nova Scotia have deeply shaped my passion for education that builds resilience, faith, and service.

I hold a BA in Political Science and History from Athabasca University, a B.Ed. from Acadia University, and I am currently pursuing a Master of Education in Global Change through Athabasca. Beyond academics, I enjoy playing bass, singing, shooting hoops, spiking volleyballs, and testing my luck at long drives on the golf course. I thrive on adventure and exploration, and you’ll often hear me talking about the next trip or experience I’m planning!

My door is always open, and I am here to help in any way I can. Please don’t hesitate to reach out by phone or email.

Let’s have a great year walking together in faith and learning!

Division Notice

ATA Strike Commencing on Monday; School Closures Starting Oct 6th

As a result of the Alberta Teachers Association (ATA) rejecting a proposed deal from the Teachers’ Employer Bargaining Association (TEBA), all FMPSD schools will be closed to students starting Monday, October 6, 2025, unless a new agreement is reached or strike action is otherwise averted. Additionally, all yellow school bus routes will be suspended for the duration of the strike.

In light of the ongoing strike, all extracurricular activities, including sports, clubs, and after-school programs, will be temporarily suspended.

As there is no definitive end date for the strike, FMPSD is unable to provide a timeline for when normal operations will resume. We will continue to provide timely updates as we receive them from the Ministry of Education and Child Care.
