Ronald Vanden Pol
Teachers - Elementary - Grade 6
My name is Ronald Vanden Pol and this is my tenth year at Fort McMurray Christian School! It's kind of hard to believe. I grew up in Lacombe, Alberta where I went to school at Lacombe Christian School and Central Alberta Christian High. After that, I decided to start working full time at McDonald's in order to make the big bucks.
Soon after realizing that may not be the best long-term career move I applied to Red Deer College. I went there for 2 years before transferring to The King's University in Edmonton. At King's I received a Bachelor of Arts in Human Sciences and an after-degree in Elementary Education. Upon graduating I took my first position at Lighthouse Christian Academy in Sylvan Lake in a 2/3 combined class. The following summer I got married to Mrs. Vanden Pol and we both were blessed to get positions teaching at Fort McMurray Christian School together! So we moved up to Fort McMurray and I started my new position teaching grade 5/6.
My wife and I have been living here for 8 years and now have two sons, Reuben(4) and Thomas (2). We go to Evergreen Community Christian Reformed Church (on the corner of Tundra Drive). In my free time, I enjoy coaching various school teams, hanging out with my family, and playing in a co-ed volleyball league.
